Since 1985, Texas Winds has brought music and friendship to thousands of local residents who would otherwise be left out of the cultural riches of our great city.

Music Making a Difference

Our Mission

Texas Winds Musical Outreach educates, enriches and entertains by bringing free musical programs to persons confined by ill health, the economically disadvantaged, isolated seniors and at-risk children.

Can you imagine a world without music?

No uplifting melodies of Mozart. No chance to sing along to old favorites. No toe-tapping to Dixieland jazz. Now imagine a world where no one cared enough to visit you and be your friend.

At Texas Winds, we can't imagine such a world, either. That is why we take live music out of the concert hall and bring it directly to people who otherwise have little opportunity to experience it. Our professional musicians give more than 850 free concerts annually, reaching 33,000 persons, young and old, from nursing home residents and hospital patients to disadvantaged children.

For many of them, Texas Winds is the only live music they will hear this year.
